“I’m calling the Mount Vernon police,” I told Lucy. “We need them there when we approach this guy.”

I got through to the police station and told the desk sergeant about Oliver. I told him exactly where Oliver was and how they had to hurry up and get him before this guy in the SUV took off.

“Okay, we’ll send someone out,” the sergeant said.

Then I called Laura and told her we were five minutes from her house.

“Be ready to jump in the car,” I said. “It’s Oliver! It’s him in the photo! He’s in Mount Vernon!”
